You are invited to be a witness to Catholic engagement in society and to learn more about the major political parties’ platforms by attending the Archdiocese of Toronto’s first-ever federal election debate.

Claim your free tickets to one of the largest — if not the largest — live audience debates in Canada during the 2019 election campaign. Tickets are available starting on Tuesday, September 3 at 10 a.m.

Representatives from the major political parties will discuss how they plan to address issues of importance to Canada’s Catholic community — some topics include poverty, life issues, Christian persecution and climate change.

The debate will happen on Thursday, October 3, 2019 starting at 7:30 p.m. at the John Bassett Theatre in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre’s North Building.

Cardinal Thomas Collins will lead us in prayer and reflect on the election at the beginning and the end of the evening. Don Newman, an award-winning journalists with decades of experience facilitating political discussions, will moderate the debate.

You can claim your tickets by visiting the Archdiocese of Toronto’s federal election site at www.archtoronto.org/election (a link to a ticket registration page will become available on Tuesday morning). There is a four ticket per person limit, as we expect all the seats will be filled quickly.

Also, on the Archdiocese of Toronto’s election website are backgrounders, infographics and videos. These resources are intended to help you discern your vote. The archdiocese hopes every eligible Catholic will be informed on the issues and will cast a ballot on election day, October 21, 2019.

We hope to see you Thursday, October 3!
